Get involved in environmental activities all season long
Township of King, Ont. (March 20, 2026) — Spring has (finally) sprung so we’re putting the “petal” to the metal! Join King Township in caring for our scenic green spaces by getting involved in environmental activities all season long.
From the community yard sale and e-waste event to our annual cleanup, frog watch, tree plantings, green yards and seed saving and lending programs, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the warmer weather while giving back to the earth. Plus, have your say on two important environmental initiatives: take the Community Tree and the King Invasive Species Strategy Feedback surveys.
Upcoming spring activities and events:
Frog Watch: Hop on over to Cold Creek Conservation on Thursday, Apr. 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. to listen to the (ribbit) sounds of spring! Delivered in partnership with Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.
King Community Clean Up: Celebrate Earth Week (April 20 to 25) by taking part in the Township-wide cleanup on Saturday, Apr. 25. Register your clean up location today and reserve your clean up supplies.
Community Yard Sale & Electronic Recycling Event: Looking for a unique item or a special find? Stop by the Trisan Centre on Saturday, May 2 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to shop around. Don’t forget to bring your unwanted electronics to the community e-waste event to ensure they are disposed of safely, recycled and kept out of the landfill.
Community Seed Saving and Lending Library: Ready to start a garden but don’t have seeds yet? Visit any of the three King Township Public Library branches to access a variety of seeds at no cost, no library card needed.
Green Yards Program: Take a step towards greening your yard and supporting pollinators. Get a native wildflower kit, rain barrel or backyard composter. Register starting Wednesday, Apr. 22.
Community Tree Survey: We’re “branching out” to hear your opinion on trees throughout King Township.
King Invasive Species Strategy Feedback Survey: Help shape the strategy, improve local understanding of invasive species, and ensure community values are reflected in King Township’s management approach.
