The Township is fortunate to have many local organizations and dedicated volunteers that provide so many worthwhile programs and services for our residents. Many events in the Township of King would not be possible without their generosity of time and commitment.

Resources for Local Community Groups
The Community Services Department is launching the Community Group Affiliation Policy to come into effect September 2023!
This policy is geared towards established or new Community Groups whose mandate is to provide recreational, art, cultural, heritage, social, environmental and/or sport programs and services that benefit King Township residents. By becoming an Affiliated Community Group (ACG) with the Township, Community Groups will have access to variety of tools and resources such as the allocation of discounted municipal space and access to funding to help support their goals. This will allow us to allocate municipal resources and space in a fair, objective, and equitable manner, and to support groups that provide opportunities that expand and diversify programs and services available to the community.

The Township of King's User Fee & Subsidization Policy applies to not-for-profit organizations interested in working with us to offer residents a variety of recreational, art, cultural, heritage, social, environmental and/or sports programs.
The Community Services Department offers support to these volunteer-based, Affiliated Community Groups by effectively allocating public funds for recreational services and facilities. The policy outlines the governing principles, relates the principles to recreation programs, facilities, and clients and recommends a three level subsidization process.

There is financial support for participants of community group programs or activities who need help paying for registration fees or equipment. The purpose of the Community Assistance Program is to provide fee assistance that is fair, equitable and easy to access for low-income King Township residents.
