55+ Skate - 55+ Skates are open to older adults to enjoy a leisure skate while getting some exercise. Helmets are strongly recommended.
Adult (18+) Shinny - Adult Shinny is open to all adults aged 18+ who wish to participate in a game of pick up hockey. Teams will be decided upon arrival, goalies play for free. All players must wear helmets and gloves. Full equipment is strongly recommended.
Family Stick & Puck - These skates are open to families who wish to practice their hockey skills. Work on basic stick handling, shooting and skating skills. Each child, aged 12 and younger, must be accompanied on the ice by an adult aged 18+. Each group can have up to 2 adults for a maximum of 5 people. All children must wear helmets and gloves.
Figure Skating Drop-In - This skate time is for experienced skaters, with Skate Canada Starskate level or higher, to help individuals practice jumps, spins, and the fundamentals of figure skating. Skate Canada rules apply. Coaches are free.
Parent & Tot Skate - These skates are open to families with young children, adults and seniors who wish to enjoy a family fun environment. Children aged 6 and younger must be accompanied on the ice by an adult, parent or guardian. Skating aids are permitted on the ice.
Public Skate - These skates are open to participants of all ages. Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult aged 16 . Skating aids are permitted in designated areas only. Skate Patrol staff provide on-ice supervision during all public skates.
Youth Shinny - These shinnies are open to youth aged 13-17 who wish to improve their hockey skills and get some extra ice time. Pick-up games are planned by those in attendance and goalies play for free. All players must wear helmets and gloves; full equipment is highly recommended.

Public Skate Rules are posted in each arena lobby. King Township reserves the right to deny access to individuals deemed to be in violation of these rules.
- Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult AGED 16+.
- Helmets are highly recommended for new skaters and children under 8 years of age.
- Helmets and gloves are mandatory for all shinny participants.
- The Ontario Recreation Facilities Association and the Township of King strongly recommends full equipment to be worn; helmets and glove protection are mandatory.
- Skate aids are allowed during Parent & Tot Skate and in designated areas during Public Skate.
- Wheelchairs are welcome at all recreational skates.
- All participants must be wearing skates while on the ice.
- All programs are subject to a 10 minute ice resurfacing.
- NO SKATE RENTALS AVAILABLE

Renters are welcome to bring their own decorations, food and non-alcoholic beverages.

Recreational Drop-In Programs
55+ Drop-In Basketball - For participants 55+ only, this program is open to all skill levels. No registration is required, must pay at front desk prior to entering the gym.
Art Club - Are you feeling artsy? Join the fun at the Kids' Create Drop-In Art Club every Saturday Morning at the KHCC! Participants may drop-in anytime during the scheduled time frame for the child's age group and enjoy new activities each week. Please note that adults must stay on site with their child(ren) but may view the museum galleries (free admission with a child attending).
Badminton - Play as singles or doubles, participants are required to bring their own racquets and birdies.
Basketball - Looking to shoot some hoops on your own or maybe start a pick-up game? Then you need to check out our drop in basketball program. This program is open to all skill levels. No registration is required.
Gym Playgroup - Join us for a fun and active program for participants 1 - 5. Kids climb, jump, ride and play in our new gymnasium equipped with all new sports equipment and toys. Indoor shoes are required.
Pickleball - Pickleball is an easy to lean paddle sport which can be played by anyone, regardless of age or athletic ability. Grab a partner for a quick match or play as doubles. This program is open to all skill levels and no registration is required. Indoor shoes are required. Players need to bring their own paddle.
Playgroup - Through stories, songs, crafts and active play, participants will develop their emerging social, cognitive, gross and fine motor skills.
Volleyball - Taking place at the New Municipal Centre. 2 Volleyball courts will be set up. Come out and enjoy an evening of volleyball. This program is open to all skill levels. No registration is required.
Walk & Talk - Need a warm place to get some steps in this winter? Come walk and talk around the gymnasium at the King Township Municipal Centre. All ages welcome, indoor shoes needed and no strollers in the gym. Stroller parking is available in the hallway.
This program is a slow-paced, low impact course specifically designed for seniors 55+ who are looking to strengthen the muscles they use in their everyday life. Seniors also engage in light but effective exercises known to improve balance and coordination. To register please email darlene@mmphysio.ca. Admission is free.

Public Swimming
Due to significant structural deficiencies, the Nobleton Lions Outdoor Pool in King is permanently closed as of the summer season in 2023. The Township looks forward to opening the new aquatic centre at the Township-Wide Recreation Centre in the fall of 2024.

Please abide by the Outdoor Rinks Skate Schedule below. Shinny is permitted only during allotted time slots. Please also see below for when figure skating is permitted:
- Every Tuesday, figure skating will be permitted at the Memorial Park (King City) rink from 6:30pm-8:30pm
- Every Thursday, figure skating will be permitted at the Nobleton Sports Park (Nobleton) rink from 6:30pm-8:30pm
- Staff are on-site during operating hours, but rinks are unsupervised. Please do not skate on the rinks outside of operating hours.
- The maximum capacity is posted at each rink.
- Skating is on a first-come-first-serve basis.
- Please limit your time on the ice to one hour if other participants are waiting to skate. Please be courteous so everyone can enjoy outdoor skating.
- Shinny is only permitted during allotted time slots.
- Flooding and maintenance closures are at the discretion of the staff, depending on ice surface and weather conditions. Please exit the ice surface upon staff request.
- Masks and helmets are HIGHLY recommended.
- Please make every effort to maintain a distance of at least 2 metres between yourself and other skaters.
- There are no washrooms available. Please plan accordingly.
- Please follow all Public Health COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions and stay home if you or anyone in your household is ill.
