King Township Municipal Centre, recreation facilities, and libraries will be closed on Wednesday, July 1 to observe the Canada Day holiday. Essential services will continue uninterrupted. Waste collection scheduled for Wednesday, July 1, Thursday, July 2 and Friday, July 3 will shift by one day.
As the long weekend approaches, King Township is reminding residents to celebrate responsibly and respect our neighbours.
Fireworks are only allowed on July 1 between dusk and 11 p.m. They must be set off on private property and at a safe distance from structures, roads and sensitive areas. Bylaw Services will be patrolling throughout the holiday to ensure fireworks are not used on public property and to educate residents on King’s fireworks bylaw. Full details: king.ca/fireworks.

Celebrate Canada Day at Memorial Park in King City from 5 p.m. to dusk. Free, family-friendly event featuring live music, food vendors, a beer garden, inflatables, facepainting, magic and a drone show. Parking is limited—please walk, bike, or carpool if you can.
