Registration for recreation programs and swim lessons opens at 7 a.m. on August 18

Township of King, Ont. (August 6, 2025) — Fall into a favourite pastime with King Township’s unbe-leaf-able selection of fall recreation programs. Take in the crisp autumn air while practicing yoga, training for a triathlon, going on guided fall hikes or taking your furry friend for a stroll with the dog walk group. Perfect your aim in archery, score big in soccer, volleyball, basketball and badminton or craft something new with Métis beading, holiday card making and a nature paint and sip! The full list of programming can be viewed online at king.ca/recreation.

Registration for fall recreation programs opens at 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 18. at townshipofking.perfectmind.com. The Township’s online recreation registration system is conveniently available 24/7 and allows you to search for programs by day of the week, age, location and area of interest. Registration can also be completed in-person at the Trisan Centre, Zancor Centre or the King Township Municipal Centre.

Fall programming begins the week of September 15 at recreation facilities across the Township. Programming highlights include:

All Ages and Familyholiday card making and cooking workshops, fencing, guided forest hikes, campfire and climbing adventures at Cold Creek Conservation Area, plus a mysterious Halloween trick-or-treating adventure, community pop-up exhibit for Islamic Heritage Day, and Christmas tree lighting and cookie decorating at the museum

Preschool: crafting, soccer, basketball, gardening, animal adventures in the park

Children and Youth: painting, fashion design, yoga, animated cartooning, robotics, 3D design and virtual reality, archery, high ropes, sports, cooking and baking, musical theatre, and a new Dungeons and Dragons club

P.A. Day and School Break Camps: explore storytelling, acting and creative play in a full-day theatre workshop on P.A. Days and during the winter break

Adult: painting, card making, archery, disc golf, outdoor yoga and the chance to become a neighbourhood composting champion, plus badminton and pickleball leagues as well as a triathlon event

Seniors: health and wellness workshops, art and writing classes, presentations on local history, tai chi and chair Zumba and bird watching

Swim lessons and aquatic leadership programs at the Zancor Centre

The fall schedule for swim lessons and aquatic leadership courses at Zancor Centre is now online at townshipofking.perfectmind.com. The facility’s Aqua Tech Solutions Aquatic Centre will offer learn-to-swim lessons for all ages, based on the Ontario Lifesaving Society’s Swim for Life program, which features programming for parent & tots, preschoolers, children, teens and adults, as well as private lessons for children ages three to 12. Aquatic leadership programs to train youth for employment as a swim instructor or lifeguard are also available.
