King Township has ended the Significant Weather Event declared in response to the winter storm that began Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026. Municipalities may declare a Significant Weather Event when a weather hazard, either forecasted or occurring, has the potential to pose a significant danger to users of the roadways in that municipality.

Weather hazards include freezing rain, significant snowfall, strong winds, blowing snow, and reduced visibility.

King Township thanks all residents, businesses, and visitors for their patience and cooperation as our roads crew worked hard over the past 4 days to clear our roads and sidewalks of the significant snowfall that left a total accumulation of 22 cm.
