Proposed Changes
Additional changes are proposed for the subject Official Plan Amendment, Zoning By-law Amendment and Draft Plan of Subdivision submitted by KLM Planning Partners on behalf of the owner, Prebrick Systems (Boynton) Inc., under Planning Files OP-2022-02, Z-2022-05 and 19T-22K01. The Applications now propose to further amend the York Region Official Plan (2022) as it applies to the Township of King (file#ROPA-25-01) to re-designate a portion of the subject lands from ‘Employment Area’ to ‘Community Area’ to facilitate a range of commercial, residential and institutional uses.
The updated plan proposes to facilitate 436 residential lots for the purposes of supporting single detached dwellings together with Open Space and Environmental Protection blocks. The revised Applications would further amend the Township of King Official Plan (2019) ‘Our King’ and re-designate employment lands to ‘Mixed Use’ and ‘Institutional’ to facilitate a range of commercial, residential, light industrial and institutional uses, including a secondary school site.
The lands identified by the Draft Plan of Subdivision currently support a sod farm with several agricultural buildings and a dwelling on 57.2 hectares. The subject site is designated ‘Neighbourhood’, ‘Employment’ and ‘Natural Heritage System’ under the Township Official Plan ‘Our King’ and is Zoned ‘Future Development’ by Zoning By-law 2016-71. The purpose of the applications is to implement the proposed draft plan of subdivision and establish appropriate land uses together with specific zones and zone provisions.
Any person may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment, Official Plan Amendment or Draft Plan of Subdivision. Written comments will become part of the public record.
