Please be advised that the Township of King has implemented additional on-street parking restrictions on Main Street and Western Avenue in Schomberg to aid in keeping sightlines clear through the curved portion of both roadways and improve community safety.
On-street parking is restricted as follows:
- Main Street on both the north and south sides from 122 metres west of the intersection with Cooper Drive to a point of 208 metres westerly. (Refer to Diagram #1)
- Western Avenue on the north and west sides from 245 metres west of the intersection with Main Street to a point 396 metres westerly/southerly. (Refer to Diagram #2).
The parking restrictions will increase safety in the area for children walking to and from school and accessing Osin Lions Park, as well as motor vehicle users who are currently forced to cross the centreline when maneuvering the curve to avoid parked vehicles.
Enforcement of the parking restriction under Parking By-law #2005-36, as amended by By-law #2024-003, will commence once no-parking signage has been installed by the Township. Parking infractions will be ticketed $100.
