Township of King, Ont. — The Township of King is an ideal place for cyclists with sections of the 475-kilometre Greenbelt Route running throughout its boundaries.

The Tour de Holland on-road route connects to the Greenbelt Route, which stretches from Niagara to Northumberland County.

The route is self-directed and passes through rich agricultural land and quaint villages with stops at bakeries, farms, wineries and cafés in King City, Kettleby, Schomberg, Ansnorveldt and Simcoe County.

The Tour de Holland route can start and end at the King City GO and Bradford GO stations so cyclists can get there by transit from downtown City of Toronto or cycle halfway and take transit back.

By following the signs for Tour de Holland, cyclists can enjoy some of the best shops, restaurants and amazing views that King has to offer.

King is asking cyclists pedaling around the Township—especially in the Holland Marsh—to keep a few things in mind:

  • Ride with a helmet and lights—front and rear are ideal—so you are more easily seen by motorists.
  • Follow all traffic laws under the Highway Traffic Act, including coming to a full stop at stop signs.
  • Stay to the right-hand side of the road.
  • Please respect private property. Although farms may be quaint to look at, they are working businesses. Please don’t trespass.
  • Keep an eye out for farming equipment on the road.
