King Township staff has raised almost $14,000 in the annual United Way campaign.

King Township and the United Way have enjoyed a long partnership, stretching back to 2006.

The money donated will help United Way fight local poverty.

According to the 2021 Canada census, around 6 per cent of King’s 28,000 residents live in a low-income home. Almost a quarter of those people are children.

Homelessness in York Region exists across all demographics, and much of it is invisible. While for many it is a temporary situation, it is also a chronic problem with people cycling in and out of homelessness.

United Way Greater Toronto works to reduce poverty by ensuring access to a broad range of programs and services for everyone, close to home.

King Township citizens have access to the hundreds of agencies supported by United Way Greater Toronto.
