Township of King, Ont.—The Township of King is meeting the objectives of its 2019-2022 Corporate Strategic Plan in the third year of its four-year plan despite the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Township released its Year Three (2021) Annual Progress Report on King’s 2019-2022 Corporate Strategic Plan, including a forecast for 2022. The progress report details how the Township was on track or had completed 37.5 of 38, or 98 per cent, of its key action items in 2021.

Community benefits for 2021 are trending in the right direction with 30 of 37, or 81 per cent, gaining momentum. Examples include an improved transportation network, increased waste diversion, more traffic-calmed neighbourhoods, and strengthened water and wastewater systems.

On Sept. 21, 2020, the Township of King approved and adopted the 2019-2022 Corporate Strategic Plan. Progress reports have been provided annually to Council for 2019, 2020 and now 2021 on May 9, 2022.

“Through the vision of Council, and the dedication of King’s talented staff, the Township continues to deliver on Council’s priorities and objectives as approved in the 2019 to 2022 Corporate Strategic Plan.

The pandemic brought with it program closures, challenges around staffing, hardship in people’s personal lives and day-to-day uncertainty. Township staff have remained resilient, dedicated to providing high-quality service. King gets an A+ for completing so many of the key actions identified in the 2019-2022 Corporate Strategic Plan.”
