UPDATE 70 - November 9, 10 am

King moves to new Orange–Restrict COVID-19 level

On November 3 the Province of Ontario announced an updated plan for lifting and imposing restrictions in communities affected by COVID-19 called the Keeping Ontario Safe and Open Framework. Under this new framework York Region is now in the "Orange - Restrict" level. This change will allow York Region businesses currently closed to re-open, such as bars, restaurants, gymnasiums and theatres, with additional protective measures.

Staff has started to evaluate and review the new framework in conjunction with public health officials and in consultation with neighbouring municipalities, while at the same time are waiting for the further release of regulations by the province that will provide for greater clarity around what is permitted or not. This will include services like ice and fitness facilities and library services.

As decisions are made in the coming days and weeks, they will be reported through various communication channels, including www.king.caFacebookTwitter and the municipal page in the King Weekly Sentinel

Citizens can still do business with King on our website at www.king.ca, by phone at 905-833-5321 (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm) or by email at serviceking@king.ca. You can also call Service King, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at 905-833-5321.
