The Western, Castlewood, Elmwood Watermain Lining Contract has been awarded to Fer-Pal Construction Ltd. The contractor is scheduled to start construction activities Monday, May 9, 2022, weather permitting.
Temporary Watermain
As part of the Contractor’s pre-construction activities, they will be installing a temporary watermain that will run along the curb line on the street. A hose attached to the temporary by-pass (blue pipe) will be connected to your home with a “Y” connector via the outside hose tap. This allows you to receive water in your home and use your garden hose.
Temporary water interruptions are necessary to complete the work. Residents will be notified in advance of any scheduled interruptions.
We recommend that you temporarily disconnect any water treatment system, such as water softners or filters, water-cooled air conditioners or any similar plumbing fixtures, as they may be damaged during the construction. Automatic lawn sprinkler systems may not operate properly while work is taking place. Manual watering may be necessary.
Pre-Condition Survey
In addition, the contractor has hired GPM Environmental to conduct pre-condition surveys of each property. The survey involves an interior/exterior inspection, including photographs of buildings and structures determined to be in close proximity to the construction activities. GPM will deliver notices to each home owner/resident. We encourage all residents to partake in this survey, as this will serve to protect all stakeholders in the event of construction-related issues.
