The Township of King has completed a Comprehensive Stormwater Management Master Plan (CSWMMP) to support growth scenarios outlined in the Township’s 2019 Official Plan (OP), and to ensure the required level-of-service can be provided throughout the Township. The study area includes the Villages of King City, Nobleton, and Schomberg, as well as the Hamlets of Ansnorveldt, Snowball, Lloydtown, Laskay, Kettleby, Pottageville, and Graham Sideroad.
This CSWMMP characterized existing and future hydrologic conditions using the proposed future development identified in the OP. The preferred Storm Water Management (SWM) strategy is to combine traditional SWM and Low Impact Development (LID) measures to effectively and efficiently address concerns created from stormwater runoff.
The Study followed Phases 1 and 2 of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) process dated October 2000 (as amended 2007, 2011, and 2015), which is to be used as foundational support for future investigations of specific schedule B and C projects. The Master Plan process included consultation with the general public, stakeholders, and government review agencies, as well as two Public Information Centres held in November 2020 and April 2021.
