King Township has ended the Significant Weather Event declared in response to the snowfall and freezing rain that began Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2026. Municipalities may declare a Significant Weather Event when a weather hazard, either forecasted or occurring, has the potential to pose a significant danger to users of the roadways in that municipality. Weather hazards include freezing rain, significant snowfall, strong winds, blowing snow, and reduced visibility.

King’s roads crew worked to clear our roads and sidewalks of the snowfall that left a total accumulation of 11 cm.

As snow removal operations continue, residents are reminded that parking your vehicle on or overhanging the sidewalk or allowing your vehicle to overhang into the roadway is strictly prohibited. Parking violations during snow clearing, sanding, or salting may result in fines.
