King Township has declared a Significant Weather Event, effective Sunday, January 25, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
This is due to forecasted weather conditions that are expected to cause hazardous conditions on Township roads and sidewalks.
Significant snowfall beginning Sunday morning through Sunday night with accumulations of 10-15 cm. The heavy snowfall and local blowing snow will reduce visibility at times.
At this time, recreation facilities remain open and programming is running as scheduled. Staff continue to assess the situation, and regular updates will be provided as they become available.
A reminder that plowing occurs in priority sequence—major roads first, followed by neighbourhood roads and cul-de-sacs last—to ensure that fire and emergency services are able to drive on the roads and respond to calls.
On-street parking restrictions are in effect. No parking on roads is permitted during plowing, sanding or salting.
Road servicing is typically completed within a 12-hour period after the snowfall is complete. It can take longer during a Significant Weather Event.
The Senior Snow Removal Assistance Program (clearing of snow for one car-width only for the windrow) is scheduled to be activated Sunday night into Monday morning.
Although crews are very conscious in following route schedules, sometimes streets may be missed. To report an oversight, call ServiceKing at 905-833-5321 or email serviceking@king.ca.
