What King Township residents need to know heading into the 2026 water billing cycle

Sign up for eBilling to avoid missing payments and monitor your water usage online

Township of King, Ont. (January 22, 2026) — Water billing helps fund essential infrastructure, including ongoing watermain replacements, and supports the continued delivery of clean, reliable water. Staying aware of billing dates and monitoring your water usage are simple ways to manage costs and help keep King Township's system running safely and efficiently.

Bills are mailed to residents. To avoid missing payments, residents are encouraged to register for eBilling to receive water bills directly via email and enroll in the Pre-Authorized Debit Program (PAD) for automatic withdrawals. The penalty charge for a late water payment is 5% and it is added on the first day after the due date. 

Alternative payment options:

  • Online with your financial institutions
  • By credit card at king.ca/OnlineServices
  • Cheque sent via mail to the Township of King (must be stamped and mailed prior to due date and received on time)
  • In-person at the King Township Municipal Centre

About your water billing cycles

Property owners in King Township receive six water bills per year for periods ending in February (P1), April (P2), June (P3), August (P4), October (P5) and December (P6). Each bill reflects two months of water usage and are made up of two parts:

  • A fixed charge, which helps cover the basic costs of maintaining the water and sewer systems, including repairs and long-term upgrades.
  • A usage charge, which depends on how much water property owners use. This part of the bill helps pay for day-to-day services like water supply and wastewater treatment.

2026 billing due dates

As a reminder, the P6 water bill for 2025, covering the period from November and December, is due on Wednesday, Feb. 18. Residents signed up for eBilling can now view their bills online. Paper copies have been mailed to households. If you have an inquiry or did not receive your bill, call ServiceKING at 905-833-5321 or email serviceking@king.ca.

To ensure you are prepared for the 2026 water billing cycle, save the following due dates below. Each due date will fall on a Wednesday, with mailout occurring the month before the cycle’s due date.

  • P1 (January – February): April 22
  • P2 (March – April): June 24
  • P3 (May – June): August 19
  • P4 (July – August): October 21
  • P5 (September – October): December 16
  • P6 (November – December): February 17, 2027

King Township's water and wastewater services operate under a two-tiered system. York Region is responsible for water supply, transmission mains, storage facilities and booster pumping stations; as well as wastewater treatment and truck collection systems. King Township is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the local water distribution systems.
