The Township of King is mourning the loss of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away on Sept. 8, 2022, at the age of 96.
Township flags are at half-mast and residents are invited to sign a Book of Condolence available at the King Township Municipal Centre from Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 4:30 p.m.
The Township of King is addressing a Letter of Condolence to His Majesty, King Charles III, and the entire Royal Family at their time of incredible loss. The Township extends good wishes to His Majesty the King in his new role.
The state funeral for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II takes place on Monday, Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. GMT, 6 a.m. ET at Westminster Abbey.
The public is encouraged to join in a National Moment of Reflection for Her Majesty, recognized with a moment of silence on Sunday, Sept. 18, at 8 p.m. GMT, 3 p.m. ET.
The Royal Family is receiving condolences online and the Government of Canada has an online Book of Condolence.
