Township of King, Ont.— Effective immediately, the Chief Fire Official of the Township of King has put in place a Township-wide ban on all outdoor fires. This means that outdoor burning for any purpose—including recreational fires—is not permitted.

Under King’s By-law 2015-109 (a bylaw to regulate open air burning throughout the Township of King) and the Fire Protection and Prevention Act (FPPA 1997), this ban will remain in effect until the ground, weather and atmospheric conditions improve with significant moisture and/or rainfall.

For more information on this ban or for any other fire and life safety information, residents are encouraged to contact King Fire and Emergency Services at its non-emergency line at 905-833-2800 from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

For emergencies, please call 911.
