Sunshine, trails, and adventure await at Cold Creek Conservation Area

Make the most of the sunny summer weather by exploring the scenic Cold Creek Conservation Area, located in Nobleton. Featuring seven kilometres of marked nature trails with varying difficulties, slopes and lengths, the site is open seven days a week.

Aside from being a haven for hikers, the green space is also home to many outdoor adventure programs and environmental events for all ages and families. Spend your summer exploring the outdoors and participating in one (or more) of the following programs:

  • Bushcraft Forest Fundamentals: Step into the forest and learn timeless wilderness skills including identifying local trees and their uses, building functional shelters, weaving natural cordage and baskets, and how to find and read water sources in the landscape. Mondays starting July 6 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Ages 13-65.
  • Critter Quest: Search for insects, tracks, feathers and other signs of wildlife while enjoying the diverse trail system. Tuesday, Jul. 7 and July 14 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Ages 6-10.
  • Target Time Archery: Build essential skills, then take part in exciting games and light‑hearted competitions the whole family can enjoy. Saturday, Jul. 11 from noon to 2 p.m. Ages 7+.
  • Low Ropes Wranglers: Test your teamwork and balance through a series of fun, challenging low‑ropes elements. Saturday, Jul. 18 and July 25, from 10 -11 a.m. Ages 7-12.
  • The Navigator's Path: Maps, compasses and GPS guide your way through games, challenges and just a little bit of getting lost as you explore the great outdoors. Thursdays starting August 13 from 6-7 p.m. Ages 10-16.
  • Wild After Dark: When the sun sets the forest comes out to play! Discover nocturnal creatures and the sounds they make during a guided evening hike. Saturday, Sept. 12 from 8-9 p.m. Ages 8+.

Spend a week at the creek!

Summer camps like Animal KingdomForest Friends and Little Green Thumbs located at Cold Creek Conservation Area focus on nature exploration and environmental learning with mini hikes. Kids learn proper shooting form and create targets in an Archery camp or go on an Outdoor Adventure shelter building and geocaching. Campers also explore up to 40 feet of dynamic fun on the high ropes and climbing elements in Rocks and Ropes or enjoy classic Summer Sizzle fun with games, crafts, water play and active outdoor experiences.

Camps run daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting June 29 to September 4, with one‑week sessions and flexible drop‑off/pick‑up.
