Secure a table space, dispose your unwanted electronics and help keep King green
Township of King, Ont. (April 2, 2026) — Reduce, reuse, recycle and rediscover great finds at King Township's annual Community Yard Sale and Electronic Recycling Event, taking place on Saturday, May 2, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Trisan Centre, located at 25 Dillane Drive in Schomberg.
With spring in bloom, the Community Yard Sale is the perfect time to declutter and turn your unwanted items into cash. Six-foot table spaces can be purchased at $15 for one, $25 for two, or $35 for three (plus HST for each space). If you don’t have your own table to bring to fill your space, rentals are available for $15 (plus HST).
This event is a great opportunity for those seeking unique items or special finds and entry is free for all to enjoy. Following its completion, participants have the option to donate any unsold items to the Salvation Army or Diabetes Canada onsite.
Book your spaces by April 25 at king.ca/CommunityYardSale.
Electronic Recycling Event
Do you have old electronics collecting dust at home? Bring them to the Community Electronic Recycling Event – taking place alongside the Community Yard Sale – to ensure they are disposed of safely, recycled and kept out of the landfill. The collection will take place in the parking lot outside of the Trisan Centre. Residents will be required to unload their own items. There is no cost for disposing electronics during the event.
Accepted items include:
- Televisions, monitors, desktops, phones, printing, copying and scanning equipment.
- Stereos, speakers, digital media, video game consoles, projectors, microphones, cameras, and calculators.
- Lighting, power tools, small appliances, stationary and portable audio and video systems.
Protect your privacy by cleaning all personal data and removing batteries from e-waste items prior to dropping them off. For more information on how to wipe your device, visit king.ca/ElectronicRecycling.
Battery disposal will also be available. All standard single-use batteries are accepted, including AAA, AA, D, 9V, button cell, etc. Rechargeable batteries are not currently accepted. For safety purposes, place leaking batteries in a sealed plastic bag and cover the terminals of lithium batteries with tape before dropping them off in the bins. Since 2023, 18,239 kilograms of electronic waste have been collected at community events.
