Shop, stroll and enjoy family fun along Main Street on October 18

Township of King, Ont. (Oct. 3, 2025) Sidewalkable Saturday returns for its fourth year, showcasing the incredible businesses and restaurants on historic Main Street, along with lots of family fun and activities!  On October 18, visit the charming heart of Schomberg from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to explore the popular tourist destination for residents and visitors alike. Many local businesses will be opening their doors and spilling onto the street along with community groups and fun activities.

This family-friendly event is a fun way to explore the quaint Schomberg community and support your favourite local spot. Highlights include:

  • Family fun with face painting, balloon art, pumpkin decorating, games and more
  • A sizzling barbeque run by the Schomberg Lions 
  • Live music to keep the energy going
  • A vintage fire truck display and activities by King Fire and Emergency Services
  • A King Heritage and Cultural Centre exhibit and activities in the Schomberg Community Hall
  • Lots of free King 175 swag bags (while quantities last)

Shop Local

From local art to fashionable trends, curated vintage finds, baked goods, antiques, home décor and more, Main Street has it all! Find the perfect gift for a loved one (or yourself) and support local businesses, including: Homeblondie, Conscious Find, Schomberg Quality Meats, Surge Activewear, De Rose Designs & Floral Boutique to name a few.

Dine Local

A variety of restaurants and cafes will be providing delicious eats during Sidewalkable Saturday. Dining options range from pub food and bakeries to fine dining with the choice to enjoy meals indoors or outside on a beautiful patio. Sample a taste of the Village by visiting local eateries, including The Schomberg Pub & Patio, Leonardo’s Pizzeria & Smokehouse, Chilaquiles Box Mexican Food, Craft Kitchen & Beer Bar, Grackle Coffee, Historia Cantina, TCB Cafe and more.

Explore Local

Alongside local stores, various community groups and organizations will have booths and information on Main Street. Visit the Schomberg Village Association, King Chamber of Commerce, Schomberg Lions, Dufferin Marsh Nature Connection, King Historical Society, King Fire and Emergency Services and the King Heritage and Cultural Centre.

To accommodate increased pedestrian traffic, Main Street will be closed to vehicular and cyclist traffic between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from the Schomberg Community Hall (325 Main Street) to the Schomberg Lions Play Parkette (221 Main Street). Alternative parking will be available at the Green P North parking lot at 251 Western Avenue along with permitted on street parking in the community.
