Looking for a rewarding part-time job where you can teach lifesaving skills or even save a life? King Township is currently hiring aquatic instructors and lifeguards to work at the new Zancor Centre, located at 1600 15th Sideroad in King City. Opening in January 2025, the facility’s Aqua Tech Solutions Aquatic Centre will feature a six-lane lap pool and leisure pool. Registered and drop-in aquatic programming will be offered starting early winter.
We’re seeking qualified individuals who are passionate about water safety, fitness, and customer service to fill morning and daytime shifts seven days a week – perfect for college/university students and adults (including recent retirees) who need a flexible, part-time work schedule. Competitive pay rates range from $18 to $40 per hour, depending on position.
Available positions include the following:
- Aquatics Instructor: teach swim lessons for all ages from infants to adults (Lifesaving Society Swim for Life program)
- Aquatics Leadership Instructor: teach courses that prepare youth for employment in aquatics
- Aquafit Instructor: plan and instruct Aquafit exercise classes
- Aquatics Lifeguard: oversee recreational and length swims
- Aquatics Lifeguard/Instructor: oversee recreational and length swims and teach swim lessons.
Successful candidates must be a minimum of 15 years of age and hold the following certifications for entry-level, aquatic instructor and lifeguard positions
- National Lifeguard Certification and/or Lifesaving Swim Instructor
- Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C Certification
- HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development
- Additional certifications are required for specialty instruction.
