Notice

Take Notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of King passed By-law Number 2025-065 on the 29th day of September, 2025 under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O, 1990.

Take Notice that an appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal (the Tribunal) in respect to all or part of this Zoning By-law Amendment may be made by filing a notice of appeal, including reasons for the appeal,  with the Township Clerk either via the Ontario Land Tribunal e-file service (first-time users will need to register for a My Ontario Account) at https://olt.gov.on.ca/e-file-service by selecting Township of King as the Approval Authority or by email at clerks@king.ca, no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025. Should this date fall on a holiday or weekend, you will have until 4:30 p.m. of the next business day to file your appeal.  Appeals filed after 4:30 p.m., either in person or electronically, will be deemed received on the next business day. The appeal fee of $1,100 per application being appealed, can be paid online through e-file or by certified cheque/money order to the Minister of Finance, Province of Ontario. If you wish to appeal to the Tribunal or request a fee reduction for an appeal, forms are available from the OLT website at www.olt.gov.on.ca. If the e-file portal is unavailable, you can submit your appeal to clerks@king.ca.

Any appeals filed with the Tribunal, must also submit the Clerk’s Division Administrative processing fee of $260.00 per application, and the Planning Division’s Administrative processing fee of $450.00 per application, payable to the Township of King, no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025. These fees may be paid through King’s online payment portal at (www.king.ca/OLT), or by forwarding two separate cheques payable in the amounts noted above, to the Township of King, Attn: Township Clerk, 2585 King Road, King City, ON, L7B 1A1.

No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before the by-law was passed, the person or public body made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the Council or, in the opinion of the Tribunal there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.

No public comments were received in relation to By-law 2025-065. As such, no public input was summarized in the Planning Department Recommendation Report (GMS-PL-2025-042), which is available on the Township’s website at www.king.ca. Matters such as parking location, noise, fencing, stormwater management, and public safety will be assessed at the site plan approval stage when details related to building design and intended uses are known.

The purpose this Zoning By-law Amendment is to rezone the municipally owned property at 19 Old King Road, Nobleton, from “Institutional” (‘I’) to “Core Area” (‘CA’) to better align with the property’s zoning with the property’s current “Village Core” designation under the Township’s Official Plan (“Our King,” 2019). This amendment facilitates a broader range of permitted uses, including commercial, institutional, residential, and recreational, that support the Township’s vision for a vibrant, pedestrian-oriented, mixed-use village centre. A key map showing the location of the lands affected by the By-law are attached. (File No. Z-2025-12).

The decision of the Council of the Corporation of the Township of King is final if a notice of appeal is not received on or before the last day for filing a notice of appeal.

Dated at the Township of King this 14th day of October, 2025.
