Take Notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of King intends to consider amending a by-law under Section 36 of the Planning Act to remove the Holding (H) Symbol for the lands described below. The earliest Council will consider passage of the by-law is the Council Meeting on Monday, May 26, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. The purpose of this notice is to inform you of this intent and to invite you to hear Council’s decision on the matter.

The proposed amendment to the Zoning By-law submitted by 2658051 Ontario Inc. under Planning File Z-2025-04 concerns a vacant industrial lot measuring 0.63 hectares in size and is generally located on the west side of Sproule Street, south of Dillane Drive and east of Highway 27, within the Village of Schomberg.

The subject property is zoned “Employment General” E2-1 as per Zoning By-law # 2017-66, the Zoning By-law for the King City and Schomberg Urban Areas, as amended , and identifies under Section 8.5.2.1 (By-law #2007-58) that Holding Symbol Provisions under E1-7 apply.

The applicant is seeking to facilitate the proposed construction of a two-storey building for the purposes of manufacturing, storing, and disturbing of large highway traffic signs. The building is to measure 731.33 m2 and have a total gross floor area of 1014.89 m2. The proposal also includes surface parking, loading and garbage facilities, landscaping, fencing, and an outdoor storage area and work yard.

The lifting of the Holding symbol can only be considered once a Site Plan has been approved and an evaluation of the Ministry of Environment Guidelines for Compatibility between Industrial Facilities and Sensitive Land Uses (Acoustic) has been completed.
