                                                                Proposed Zoning By-law Amendment

Take Notice that the Township of King has received a complete application for a proposed amendment to the Schomberg and King City Urban Areas Zoning By-law 2017-66, as amended, to facilitate a re-development on the properties outlined below, submitted to the Township of King in accordance with Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter P.13, as amended.

The Planning Division has commenced processing the application. A Council Public Planning Meeting will be scheduled and held at a later date, with formal notice being provided pursuant to the statutory requirements of the Planning Act.

If you have received this notice as an owner of a property that contains seven (7) or more residential units, please post this notice in a visible location to all residents of the land.

Proposed Changes

The subject application proposes to amend the Schomberg and King City Urban Areas By-law to facilitate a re-development of the subject properties for a residential condominium project. Specifically, the application proposes a total of 32 townhouse units measuring  3-storeys with each unit having a single car garage.  A private laneway is proposed for access to Dew Street. A total of 5 townhouse units will have access directly from Dew Street.  

The subject site is located on the south side of Dew Street, west of William Street in the Village of King City. The site measures 0.71 hectares with 91.42 metres of frontage on Dew Street and currently supports three single detached dwellings, a detached garage and a shed. The subject lots are designated ‘Village Core’ under the Township Official Plan ‘Our King’ and are currently Zoned ‘Residential – Single Detached “C” (R1C)’ by Zoning By-law 2017-66. The purpose of the Zoning By-law Amendment is to rezone the subject site to a ‘Residential – Townhouse (R3)’ zone to implement the described development and provide for site specific provisions to address minimum lot area, lot frontage, minimum yard requirements, lot coverage and height.
