Tree lighting ceremony happens Sunday, Nov. 26 from 5 – 6 p.m.

Township of King, Ont. — Schomberg will come alive with holiday cheer when a Main Street Christmas returns to the charming village on Saturday, Dec. 2.

The annual event, presented by the Schomberg Village Association, starts at 3 p.m. when Main Street will be transformed into a winter wonderland, featuring a variety of activities for the whole family. The event will commence with lively street performers, carolers spreading yuletide joy and captivating children's entertainers. Fireside readings, children's crafts and holiday creations will add to the festive atmosphere. Don't miss the Christmas marketplace, showcasing the talents of local artists.

The highlight of the day is Santa's Parade, beginning at 4 p.m., where local businesses and community groups will showcase their creativity with dazzling floats. Several bands will accompany the parade, playing tunes to amplify the festive spirit.

From 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Main Street will transport you to a bygone era with carolers serenading, live entertainment and carriage rides. Take a meoment to discover if you've been naughty or nice and give your Christmas wish list to Santa. Indulge in festive treats offered by various food vendors, including hot chocolate, roasted chestnuts, kettle corn and cookies. 

For those looking to start their holiday shopping, the Christmas Market awaits at the newly refurbished Schomberg Community Hall.

The evening crescendos with the Farmers' Parade of Lights, featuring local farmers showcasing their farm equipment in a dazzling procession down Main Street.

Admission is $5 per adult and children 12 and under enjoy free entry. New this year, attendees can conveniently tap their debit or credit cards for entry.

Save the Date: A Main Street Christmas is preceded by the Schomberg tree lighting ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 26, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Doctor Kay and Main Street. Enjoy caroling, complimentary hot chocolate and cookies courtesy of Tim Hortons.
