In October 2024, the Township of King was alerted to activities at 7305 King Road that raised concerns. Since then, the Township has been investigating the property.

As a result of the investigation, the Township sought legal action from the Ontario Superior Court of Justice to prevent the property owners, tenants and occupants from violating local by-laws related to zoning, site alteration and clean yards. The Township also requested an interim injunction to address the situation until the court could hear the full application.

On December 13, 2024, the Court granted the interim injunction, which included the following provisions:

  • No site alterations are allowed and the property must comply with the Site Alteration By-law.
  • No debris or rubbish can accumulate on the property, in compliance with the Clean Yards By-law.
  • Until January 31, 2025, only Capital Express Lines Ltd. and 1629664 Ontario Inc. can use the property and their operations cannot expand beyond their current scope.
  • By February 1, 2025, all trucking, trailer and vehicle storage and dispatch operations must be removed from the property and the property must comply with the Zoning By-law.

These conditions will remain in effect until the court hears the full application, scheduled for May 2025.
