The partnership with Digital Mobility Inc. sees King become one of the first municipalities in Ontario to make the transition

Township of King, Ont. (April 24, 2026) — You may regularly see King Township By-law Officers out in the community, parked in a marked Township vehicle on a cellular device, and wonder what’s happening behind the screen? Rest assured, they aren’t scrolling social media—they’re hard at work. In fact, their devices have become an important tool for the job as King Township becomes one of the first municipalities in Ontario to switch to the secure Intelligent Mobile Patrol® eNotes platform.

The recently announced partnership with Digital Mobility Inc. means that By-law Officers now rely on secure digital note-taking applications to document information in real-time. Instead of using a traditional paper notebook, they record observations and investigative details directly into a protected system while still on scene, saving them time and improving the accuracy of information in the process.

What may look like sending a text message is the careful, precise documentation of information which can include anything from writing notes to labelling camera photos, writing reports, filling out forms and viewing evidence. Ensuring these details are captured immediately helps preserve timelines, improves accuracy and ensures key facts are properly recorded.

This modernization has streamlined workflows, so staff spend less time returning to their desks to re-write notes and more time in the field, patrolling public spaces. The next time you notice a By-law Officer on their cell phone, just know they’re on the job, working hard.

King Township’s By-law Services team works diligently to keep the community safe and orderly by enforcing municipal by-laws and regulations such as noise, illegal dumping and littering, parking, signage, zoning and clean yards, ensuring residents can peacefully enjoy living in King.
