King Township hosting 2023 municipal budget open house on Jan. 17

Township of King, Ont.— King Township is offering citizens opportunities to review and provide input on the draft 2023 budget, including during an in-person open house on Tuesday, Jan. 17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Citizens can review the budget, provide feedback, and ask questions of Township staff. It will take place in council chambers at the Municipal Centre at 2585 King Rd. King City.

Citizens can access the 2023 Budget Book at speaking.king.ca/2023-budget or king.ca/budget. The Budget Book includes information on the draft 2023 budget council will consider at the Feb. 6 meeting.

The SpeaKING budget page also includes other important information, such as key dates, the budget process timeline and important documents like the Budget Book. This document will help you navigate the budget approval process and see what is being proposed for 2023.

Budget information

King Township's many services and programs keep our community vibrant and encourage business growth and investments. Garbage collection, public libraries, road repair, recreation programs, water testing, fire and emergency response are all municipal services King provides.

The operating budget includes annual expenditures for personnel costs, materials and supplies, contracted services, minor capital, debt charges, reserve transfers and program fees.

The capital budget includes expenditures and financing sources to acquire, construct, maintain and facilitate Township capital assets such as: roads, bridges/structures, water distribution and wastewater collection systems, recreational facilities and administrative facilities.
