King asks to fast-track approval for new Southlake Regional Health Centre site

Township of King, Ont.The Township of King Council passed a resolution on proposed changes to the Greenbelt and Oak Ridges Moraine, including King’s request to fast-track approval for the new Southlake Regional Health Centre site.

In response to proposed changes to the Greenbelt and Oak Ridges Moraine, King Council:

  • Unanimously supports the location of the new Southlake Regional Health Centre on the lands proposed to be removed from the Greenbelt Plan Area    
  • Formally requests the Province of Ontario to fast-track approval of the new Southlake Regional Health Centre on these lands.

Council has directed King staff to work with the landowner, Province and Southlake Regional Health Centre to expedite development approvals for the health centre lands. King is sending a copy of this resolution to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, the Minister of Health, and to the President and CEO of Southlake Regional Health Centre.
