Planning a renovation or new build in King Township? The Province of Ontario has updated the Application for a Permit to Construct or Demolish, which is required for all building permit applications in compliance with the Ontario Building Code. The update comes into effect Monday, Feb. 16, 2026.

What’s new:

  • Outdated references to Tarion / Ontario New Home Warranty Program have been removed.
  • A new field has been added to capture New Home Construction Licensing Act (NHCLA) builder/vendor license number(s) for new homes.
  • Applicants are encouraged to provide builder information if it is known at the time of application.

Designers, builders, and applicants must use the updated form when submitting applications.

All building permit applications must be submitted online through the CityView Portal and meet current provincial and municipal requirements.
