Take King Township’s Internet Voting Survey ahead of the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election
Township of King, Ont. (June 27, 2025) —King Township wants you to have your say on more than just the ballot ahead of the next municipal election on Monday, October 26, 2026. Share your thoughts on internet voting for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election by filling out the Internet Voting survey, a quick four question survey taking less than five minutes to complete. The survey is available at king.ca/elections now until July 18, 2025.
King Township is considering introducing internet voting in addition to the current paper ballot system. The Township is exploring a hybrid voting model to give voters the choice to vote in-person or via the internet. Internet voting provides for a convenient and secure method of voting and allows electors to cast their ballot online anywhere with internet access using several devices including computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, etc. All voters would be automatically eligible to vote via either method without additional registration required.
The popularity of hybrid voting systems is increasing. King Township is the only municipality in York Region yet to commit to a hybrid format for the 2026 election cycle. King Township is looking to reflect the current needs and preferences of residents. By taking part in the Internet Voting survey, residents can be an integral part of developing the municipal voting system for the 2026 Municipal and School Board election as well as future elections.
The results of the survey will be presented to Council later this year for consideration.
