Save your spot in swim lessons, aquatic leadership courses, sports leagues and summer camps

Township of King, Ont. (June 20, 2025) — Seas the day! The sun is shining, the first day of summer is here and so (soon) is the start of summer recreation programming in King Township. Find serenity in an outdoor yoga class, take aim at ultimate frisbee or disc golf, learn a life-saving skill in learn-to-swim lessons or train to be a lifeguard and swim instructor. Summer recreation and aquatic programs start on June 30 and online registration is open.

Recreation programs

Learn a new skill or show off some moves in a registered program at your local recreation facility or park. With arts and crafts, sports, and family activities, there is plenty to do for all ages and interests including:

All Ages and Family: Grandma-Grandpa & Me train and gardening workshops

Preschool:  playgroup, soccer, and animal adventures in the park

Children and Youth: basketball, badminton, soccer, volleyball, and team building in the park

Adult: ultimate frisbee, badminton, disc golf, and outdoor yoga

Seniors: Play euchre, bridge, board games. Paint or dance. Knit /crochet. Go on trips and attend special events and workshops. Programming for seniors ages 55 years and older is delivered in partnership with the King Township Seniors Board. For more information about a membership and programs, visit king.ca/seniors.

With disc golf and forest bathing on top of seven kilometres of marked trails there’s something for everyone!  For program information, including fees and links to registration, visit coldcreek.ca.

Swim lessons

Sunny summer days mean time spent at the beach or the cottage trying to beat the heat. King Township’s summer swim lessons give you the confidence (and newfound lifesaving skills) to wade through the waves with ease. Get ready for fun in (or by) the water: save your spot in a summer swim lesson session, with daily, bi-weekly and weekly options available.

The facility’s Aqua Tech Solutions Aquatic Centre offers learn-to-swim lessons for all ages, based on the Ontario Lifesaving Society’s Swim for Life program, which features programming for parent & tots, preschoolers, children and adults, as well as private lessons for children ages three and above, or until Swimmer 6.
