With spring maintenance complete, park amenities are open and ready for use
Township of King, Ont. (May 13, 2025) —Trails have been trimmed, nets have been installed, and grass has been mowed— meaning park amenities in King are officially open for the season! With over 222 acres of parkland and 28 parks township-wide, there is an assortment of amenities for residents to enjoy outdoors.
This includes 21 soccer fields, eight baseball diamonds, nine tennis courts and four pickleball courts now open for use through the end of October. Splash pads are set to open in June and run until mid-September, weather permitting.

Book a picnic shelter or sports field
Planning a picnic, birthday party, play day or family reunion? King has many scenic outdoor spaces available to rent during the spring and summer seasons. Picnic shelters available to rent include:
- Cold Creek Conservation Area
- Memorial Park in King City
- Nobleton Community Sports Park
- Pottageville Pavilion
Picnic shelter rentals in Memorial Park and Nobleton Community Sports Park include access to indoor washrooms. Additional bookings are required for access to indoor washrooms at Cold Creek Conservation Area. The Pottageville Pavilion includes access to an indoor space and kitchen.
Baseball diamonds, soccer fields and tennis courts are also available to rent.

Explore the outdoors at Cold Creek Conservation Area
Cold Creek Conservation Area, located in Nobleton features seven kilometers of marked nature trails with varying difficulties, slopes and lengths open to the public, hikers from novice to expert can find the perfect path. The main gates are open from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. seven days a week. Outside of operating hours, guests can park their vehicles outside of the main gates and follow the trail maps for hours of enjoyment. King Township also offers outdoor recreational programming for all ages now through August.
Spring and summer one-day activities and four session programs include:
- Apiary tour with third generation beekeeper André Flys on May 25
- Outdoor vinyasa yoga on May 27
- Beginner Beekeeping workshop on June 1
- Climbing Adventures (high ropes, climbing wall, low ropes) program starting June 3
- Indigenous Walk & Talk and Oil Infusion Workshop on June 27
- Archery programs starting July 10
- Disc golf starts August 5
- Forest bathing and hiking on August 16
A serene forest bathing stroll geared towards seniors is also being offered on August 27 at Fox Trail Park in Schomberg.
