Registration for residents opens at 7 a.m. on February 24

Township of King, Ont.— Life is s’more fun at summer camp—and King Township has lined up more than 40 different ones for young campers to choose from! Parents can start planning their summer by browsing the new, interactive 2025 Summer Camps Guide, now available online at king.ca/camps. Whether your child is a baker or builder, an artist, actor, animal lover or fan of superheroes, secret agents, science and sports, there’s a summer camp experience waiting for them! Registration for residents opens at 7 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 24 on the Township’s online recreation registration system at townshipofking.perfectmind.com.

The summer camp season begins on Monday, June 30 with camps running for one-week sessions until Friday, Aug. 29 at various recreation facilities located in Nobleton, Schomberg and King City—including the new Zancor Centre. The zero-carbon facility features state-of-the-art amenities including two NHL-sized ice rinks (skate and hockey camps!) a six-lane lap pool, a leisure pool, an athletic fieldhouse with artificial turf (basketball, volleyball and pickleball camps!) and acres of green space for outdoor play. Zancor Centre campers over the age of 7 will enjoy dedicated recreational swimming times.

Camps are categorized by areas of interest to make the search easier for parents and kids. Choose from camps for ages 4 to 13 in the categories of arts and culture, culinary, sports, science and technology, the outdoors and special themes, as well as leadership training for youth ages 14 to 16. In addition to specialized programming, children at all camps enjoy traditional camp activities including sports, arts & crafts, water play and pizza lunch on Fridays, available for all camps with the exception of We Be Tripping, for an additional cost of $10.

Tried and true and lots new!

Many camp classics are making their return by popular demand, including: Cooking, Summer Sizzle, We Be Tripping, and Cold Creek Conservation Area’s flagship Outdoor Adventure Camp. In addition to this, King’s summer camps team has been busy planning several new and exciting options. Here are some highlights:

  • Amusement Park Tycoon: from mesmerizing ferris wheels to heart-racing rollercoasters, design an amusement park attraction using motors, gears, axles, and more. Delivered in partnership with Robothink. For ages 7 to 9.   
  • Camp Swifties: shake it off with music inspired crafts, games, karaoke, and water play. For ages 7 to 9.
  • Learn to skate: beat the heat, hit the ice learning basic skating skills including balance and coordination. For ages 4 to 6.
  • Mini Homesteader: garden, bake, and learn about sustainable living. For ages 4 to 6.

Convenient locations and flexible drop-off and pick-up

Camp sites include the following locations: Zancor Centre, Nobleton Community Centre & Arena, Trisan Centre, Schomberg Community Hall, King Township Municipal Centre, King Heritage and Cultural Centre, and Cold Creek Conservation Area. The types of camps vary by location. The camp day runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with flexible drop-off for campers starting at 8:30 a.m. and pick-up ending at 5 p.m. Bussing is only available for field trips for select camps.

King campers are in good hands

All camp staff are certified in Standard First Aid, CPR- C and HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development and have received a clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check. All summer camp staff attend comprehensive training sessions prior to the summer camp season and wear many hats throughout the summer as they maintain safety and supervision of campers, organize and lead group activities and mentor youth working as camp volunteers. Inclusion support staff for children ages four to 15 with disabilities is provided free of charge to Township of King residents, pending availability.
