The King Environmental Action Team (K.E.A.T.) is a group of residents and Community Services staff members who are dedicated to making King Township more environmentally sustainable through hands on action and events within the community. K.E.A.T. looks forward to making a meaningful impact within the community through effective stewardship and responsible environmental actions.
Among a host of other actions, K.E.A.T. is aiming to undertake local community focused activities such as:
- Tree Planting
- Community Clean-Ups
- Guided Hikes
- Cycling Initiatives
- Regeneration in Land Use & Agriculture
- Environmental Workshop Development
- Community Climate Action

Harvest King Fall Farmers Market
Join King Township and K.E.A.T. for the first-ever Harvest King Fall Farmers Market on Sunday, Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the King Township Municipal Centre, located at 2585 King Road in King City. This free community event celebrates the deep agricultural roots that continue to shape King Township today. Attendees can look forward to a lively marketplace atmosphere featuring a kid-friendly fun zone, fresh produce, local products and handmade goods.

Ecological Gardening
KEAT partnered with the Lake Simcoe South Master Gardeners (LSSMG) and local garden clubs to present beginner friendly gardening workshops to encourage climate smart and native gardening.
