REGULATE AND GOVERN STORMWATER MANAGEMENT RATES

TOWNSHIP OF KING TO CONSIDER A BY-LAW TO IMPLEMENT A STORMWATER MANAGEMENT RATE
The Township of King owns and operates thousands of stormwater infrastructure assets including: sewers, catch basin, culverts, ditches, and ponds. Keeping this infrastructure in a state-of-good-repair is crucial to maintaining a functional stormwater management system. A new funding source is required so the Township can perform the necessary cleaning, maintenance, and upgrades in response to aging assets, regulatory requirements, and the effects of climate change.
Council of the Corporation of the Township of King will consider a staff report and a Stormwater Management Rate By-law at its Special Council Meeting on:
Monday, June 5, 2023 – 6:00 p.m.

Public Participation
1) VIEW the meeting live virtually at www.king.ca/meetings or attend in person. No pre-registration required.
2) SUBMIT WRITTEN COMMENTS
• Send to the Township Clerk at clerks@king.ca by the 12:00 P.M. (NOON) DEADLINE ON THE DAY OF THE MEETING. Comments will form part of the public record and will be circulated to Members of Council and Staff prior to the meeting.
3) SPEAK TO COUNCIL IN-PERSON (must pre-register)
• Pre-register with the Clerks Division at 905-833-4068 or email clerks@king.ca no later than the 12:00 P.M. (NOON) DEADLINE ON THE DAY OF THE MEETING. Provide your full name, address, telephone number and the item you wish to speak to along with a copy of your speaking notes.
4) SPEAK TO COUNCIL VIRTUALLY (must pre-register)
• By video (through a computer or app) or by phone live during the meeting by pre-registering with the Clerks Division at 905-833-4068 or email clerks@king.ca by the 12:00 P.M. (NOON) DEADLINE ON THE DAY OF THE MEETING. Provide your preference for joining – by video or phone – and your full name, address, telephone number and the item you wish to speak to along with a copy of your speaking notes. Upon receipt of your registration, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions for participating. All comments addressed to Council will form part of the public record.
The staff report and by-law will be available for review on the Township website at www.king.ca as of Thursday, June 1, 2023.
