Information for Voters

To be eligible to vote in the municipal election, you must be:

• 18 years of age or older;
• a Canadian citizen; and
• a resident of King Township; or
• a non-resident who owns or rents property in King Township; or
• the spouse of an owner or tenant of property in King Township.

If you’re temporarily living outside of Ontario, you may be eligible to add yourself to the Register of Absentee Voters.

If you’re 16 or 17 and reside in Ontario, you can add yourself to the Ontario Register of Future Voters.

While Elections Ontario maintains the Voters List for municipal elections, the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) ensures that your school support designation remains current. Ensure your school support information is updated by June 1.

The Vote at Home Program dates for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election will be available on this page once they are confirmed. Please continue to monitor for important updates in the coming weeks. 

What is the Vote at Home Program?

The Vote at Home Program is for homebound electors who are unable to physically attend a voting place. A Homebound Elector means an elector whose ability to move or function is restricted to the extent that they cannot attend a polling station without significant difficulty or support assistance. For example, they may be bedridden due to illness or injury. Details for the Vote at Home Program 2026 registration period will be shared in the coming weeks.
