Township of King mourns the loss of Elizabeth II

Township of King, Ont.— The Township of King joins people from across the globe in mourning the loss of Queen Elizabeth II, who has passed at the age of 96.

Queen Elizabeth II was a dedicated Head of the Commonwealth since February 1952, making her the longest ruling monarch in British history. 

Township flags will fly at half-mast and residents are invited to sign a Book of Condolence that will be available at the King Township Municipal Centre starting on Monday, Sept. 12. Queen Elizabeth II will be recognized at the virtual Township Council meeting on Monday, Sept. 12 at 6 p.m.

The King Township Public Library is displaying collections pertaining to the Queen, available at each branch. The Royal Family has posted a virtual Book of Condolence at The Royal Family
