From guided hikes and outdoor yoga to swims, skates, cultural exhibits and environmental events—there’s something for everyone
Township of King, Ont. (May 29, 2026) — King Township is proud to celebrate June is Recreation and Parks Month, joining communities across Ontario in recognizing the vital role recreation and parks play in building healthy, vibrant communities.
Access to parks and recreation is a fundamental human need that helps foster personal health, strong communities, and social inclusion. JRPM celebrates Ontario’s spectacular parks and recreation services and raises awareness for the role they play as a pathway to individual, community, and environmental well-being.
Throughout June, King Township is offering a wide range of free and low-cost activities for residents of all ages and abilities. Highlights include:
- Free public swims, skates and open turf time at Zancor Centre
- Free fitness classes (including outdoor yoga) and workouts at Trisan Centre
- Summer Camp Open House at Nobleton Community Centre
- A 60’s and 70’s dinner and social for seniors
- A Repair Café at the King City Seniors Centre and an eWaste event at Nobleton Community Centre
- Animal adventures at Hickstead Park
- “A Rainbow of Artifacts” PRIDE exhibit at the King Heritage & Cultural Centre
- Guided hikes, trail exploration, archery and an apiary tour at Cold Creek Conservation Area
- Free wildflower seeds at King Township Public Libraries during National Pollinator Week
