• Are there any camp subsidies?

  York Region Recreation Subsidies - Positive Leisure Activities for Youth (PLAY)

  York Region offers subsidies for recreation programs and day camps. Recreation programs and day camp subsidies provide children from families with low income the ability to take part in programs offered by the municipal recreation departments. The subsidy is available for children aged four to 13. For more information visit york.ca

  King Township Community Assistance Program

  The Community Assistance Program is to provide fee assistance that is fair, equitable and easy to access for low-income King Township residents. For more information on the application process please visit www.enrichking.ca/CAP

• My child requires 1:1 support. How do I register for inclusion support?

  King Township is committed to making our Summer Camps accessible and supportive to individuals of all abilities. Inclusion support staff are available for children with a disability, ages 4+, who may require additional support for activity accommodation, personal support for safety and care, or to assist with their social and recreational experience. How to request inclusion support:

  1. Register for an Inclusion Membership.
  2. Complete the Inclusion Participant Intake Form in its entirety upon checkout (must be completed annually).
  3. Look through the Summer Camp Guide to see which camp matches your child’s interests and abilities.
  4. Register for the 1:1 inclusion support program corresponding to the week of camp you are interested in and indicate in the questionnaire the name and course code. Register online at townshipofking.perfectmind.com.
  5. Once support has been confirmed by the Township’s Lead Hand – Aquatics and Inclusion Services, then you can register your child in the camp program. Do not register for the camp that you requested support for until support has been confirmed by the Township.

   

• How does camper sign in/out work?

  ​​​​​​All camp sign-in/sign-out will take place in a designated area, please check the camp guide, or the Thursday email sent to participants for exact locations. In the event, there is inclement weather  sign-in/sign-out will be indoors. Parents/ guardians and campers will need to follow and abide by the appropriate signage at each facility. Camp staff will be at each facility to assist. Parents and guardians are required to sign their camper(s) in and out at the beginning and end of each day at the location they are registered at. A piece of ID will need to be provided at sign-out EVERY DAY and must match a name listed on the authorized pick-up form, only then will the camper be released to the parent or guardian.

• What if I want a refund or transfer?

  Requests for changes and transfers will only be considered with a completed refund/ transfer form and will only be accepted three business days prior to the start of the program. Changes and transfers are conditional on class and space availability in the program. Differences in programming price will need to be paid prior to the program start date.

  Transfers cannot take place once camps have started.

  No daily refunds will be granted for weekly camp registrations. See chart below for more information.

• What are the behaviour expectations?

  The Township of King strives to provide the highest level of safety and enjoyment to all participants and staff during its camps and programs. Coarse language, bullying, noncompliance with protocols, eloping, and aggressive or inappropriate behaviour are not permitted at camp. These behaviours will be documented, reported, and could result in the removal of a participant from camp. If your child has behavioural concerns, please speak to our Camp Directors, and notify them of triggers and methods that are helpful for your child. It is our goal to make camp enjoyable for everyone!

• What to do if your camper will be absent?

  If your child will be absent from a day of camp, please  email camps@king.ca.

  Please include your name, phone number, your child’s first and last name, and the camp& location they are attending.

  We will be sure to get the information to the proper camp.

• Where are the camps located?

  Summer Camps are located at the following various recreational facilities in King City, Nobleton and Schomberg:

  • Zancor Centre
  • King Heritage & Cultural Centre
  • King Township Municipal Centre
  • Dr. William Laceby Nobleton Community Centre and Arena
  • Cold Creek Conservation Area
  • Tasca Park
  • Trisan Centre
  • Schomberg Hall

• How do I print my camp receipts?

  Please access your account online via townshipofking.perfectmind.com and log in to be able to view and save receipts for your records and/or tax purposes.

  Follow these steps:

  1. After logging in, click on the name of a parent/guardian/primary account holder.
  2. Navigate to the "Invoices" option.
  3. Select the date range and "Completed" in the sidebar search function under "Invoice Status".
  4. Select which transaction by checking off the box and click the "Receipt" button right above.
  5. The receipt should popup in a new window and give the option to print or email.
