Take notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of King passed By-law Number 2026-001, being a by-law to adopt Amendment No. 8 to the Official Plan of the Township of King, on the 12th day of January, 2026, under Section 17 and 22 of the Planning Act, R.S.O, 1990, as amended. The approval authority is the Township of King, 2585 King Road, King City, ON, L7B 1A1.
Amendment No. 8 to the Official Plan is site specific to lands identified on Schedule ‘D1’ of the Township’s Official Plan (“Our King”) (2019). The amendment pertains to lands municipally known as 117 Humber Valley Crescent. The amendment establishes Village Site Specific Policy for the subject lands to permit one (1) lot with a minimum lot area of 1,200 m2 and a minimum frontage of 30 metres and one (1) lot with a minimum lot area of 1,080 m2 and a minimum frontage of 30 metres, for a total of two (2) lots.
All submissions from the public, staff and external agencies were considered as part of the decision-making process. Public consultation took place in the form of a public meeting held by Council on Monday, June 2nd, 2025, which was a formal, statutory meeting under the Planning Act. All comments received were considered in municipal planning staff reports and were made available to the public both on our website (www.king.ca ) and in person. The comments were identified, discussed, and where appropriate, were addressed at the Council meeting on Monday, January 12th, 2026 and within Planning Division Report No. GMS-PL-2026-001. Comments received and considered were summarized and responded to within Appendix E of Report GMS-PL-2026-001. The report is available on the Township’s website www.king.ca . More specifically, Based on these comments, Council is satisfied that all matters have been appropriately addressed and as such, Council adopted the Official Plan Amendment, which are available on the Township’s website at www.king.ca .
Take notice that an appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) in respect to all or part of this Official Plan Amendment may be made by filing a notice of appeal with the Township Clerk either via the OLT e-file service (first-time users will need to register for a My Ontario Account) at https://olt.gov.on.ca/e-file-service by selecting Township of King as the Approval Authority or by email at clerks@king.ca, no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday, February 9th, 2026. Should this date fall on a holiday or weekend, you will have until 4:30 p.m. of the next business day to file your appeal. Appeals filed after 4:30 p.m., either in person or electronically, will be deemed received on the next business day. The appeal fee of $1,100 per application being appealed, can be paid online through e-file or by certified cheque/money order to the Minister of Finance, Province of Ontario. If you wish to appeal to the OLT or request a fee reduction for an appeal, forms are available from the OLT website at www.olt.gov.on.ca. If the e-file portal is unavailable, you can submit your appeal to clerks@king.ca.
Any appeals filed with the Tribunal, must also submit the Clerk’s Division Administrative processing fee of $450.00 per application, and the Planning Division’s Administrative processing fee of $459.00 per application, payable to the Township of King, no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday, February 9th, 2026. These fees may be paid through King’s online payment portal at (www.king.ca/OLT), or by forwarding two separate cheques payable in the amounts noted above, to the Township of King, Attn: Township Clerk, 2585 King Road, King City, ON, L7B 1A1.
No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before the Official Plan Amendment was adopted, the person or public body made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the Council or, in the opinion of the OLT there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
The decision of the Council of the Corporation of the Township of King is final if a notice of appeal is not received on or before the last day for filing a notice of appeal.
