Tis the season to think greener and cleaner! King Township’s2026 Waste Collection Schedule is now available online at king.ca/waste. Print copies will be delivered to all households next week and will also be available for pick-up at the King Township Municipal Centre and recreational facilities starting in the New Year. The schedule contains important reminders on general collection, green bin organics, garbage, leaf and yard waste, hazardous waste and electronics, textile recycling and curbside giveaway days.

Recycling
King Township will no longer manage recycling, effective December 31, as mandated by the Province of Ontario. Ahead of the recycling transition, King households received a 360-litre wheeled, lidded recycling cart. If this size does not meet your needs, you may request an exchange for a smaller 240-litre cart by completing the Recycling Cart Exchange Request Form, available online at circularmaterials.ca/king. Before requesting an exchange, it is recommended that you try the cart for at least three bi-weekly pick-ups to gauge your actual capacity needs. Please keep in mind that recycling collection is moving from a weekly to a bi-weekly schedule, the list of accepted materials is expanding, all items must fit inside the cart with the lid closed, and only one cart exchange will be permitted per address. Large item collection
Beginning January 2026, large item collection in King Township will follow a scheduled, call-in process, similar to the system already in place for appliances and large metal items. For more information on the upcoming changes, read the full media release or visit king.ca/LargeItemCollection.
