Enjoy live entertainment, festive treats, a Christmas market and two parades
Township of King, Ont. (Nov. 19, 2025) — Santa’s coming to Schomberg! A Main Street Christmas, hosted by the Schomberg Village Association, brings its annual holiday cheer to King Township on Saturday, Dec. 6. The “Storybook Christmas” themed family-friendly event brings beloved Christmas tales to life from 3 to 8:30 p.m. with street performers, carolers, children’s entertainers, fireside readings, holiday creations, two parades and, of course, Santa Claus!
A Main Street Christmas attracts over 6,000 residents and visitors from neighbouring communities each year. The event starts with the “storybook” themed Santa Claus Parade at 4:00 p.m. Local businesses and community groups participate with creative floats and several bands march while playing rousing tunes. The sidewalks get crowded quickly, be sure to arrive in advance to have a great view of Santa as he comes down the street.
Between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. wander up and down Main Street to enjoy the festivities and be entertained by jugglers, musicians and singers, all the while you are tempted at every turn by refreshments such as hot apple cider, hot chocolate, roasted chestnuts, cookies and more.
The Schomberg Community Hall will be home to the Christmas marketplace, open from 3 to 7:30 p.m. with over 50 tables. From handcrafted ornaments and artisanal goodies to cozy knits and festive décor, there’s something for everyone on your list. Support local vendors while discovering thoughtful gifts that bring the warmth of the season to life. Free character drawings allow attendees to bring the holiday magic home with them or take a spin on the 360 mobile photobooth.
The night will end with the 31st edition of the spectacular Farmers’ Parade of lights starting at 8:30 p.m. Last year the local farming community brought over 35 farm vehicles decorated with thousands of twinkling Christmas lights to Main Street. This beloved tradition brings the community together to celebrate the holiday season with small-town charm and big holiday spirit. There’s still time to be part of the parade! To enter, complete the parade form online at schomberg.ca.
Get a headstart on the fun and save at the same time: for the first time tickets are available to purchase in advance for a discounted price of $5 per person. Prices increase to $7 at the gate. Children 12 and under receive free admission. All admission includes access to the Christmas market. To purchase a ticket, visit amainstreetchristmas.com.
To accommodate the parade route, street festivities and increased foot traffic, a portion of Main Street will be closed between Ben Boy Avenue and Church Street from 2 to 10 p.m. Dr. Kay Drive from Main Street to Cooper Drive and the intersection of Main Street and Western Avenue will also be closed during this time. Western Avenue will be closed to traffic from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
