Ninety-five per cent of citizens say the quality of life in the Township of King is good to very good and nine in 10 say King is safe and a great place to raise a family.
These are just two key findings contained in King’s first-ever citizen survey conducted in February of this year.
The survey, based on random sampling and conducted by Ipsos, is considered statistically significant, having a +/-4.2-per-cent margin of error (or 98-per-cent confidence level). This means it can be considered an accurate representation of the entire Township.
Some other key findings include:
- 80 per cent of citizens are satisfied with the overall quality of municipal services.
- 82 per cent expressed satisfaction with the level of service received.
- 80 per cent agree King is a welcoming community and economically vibrant.
The three most important issues facing the municipality identified by respondents in an open-ended question were: municipal governance, taxation and user fees (17 per cent); traffic congestion (15 per cent); and urban development and complete communities (13 per cent).
The results of the 2023 Citizen Survey will help inform future Township planning, projects and strategies, including the 2023-2026 Corporate Strategic Plan. They will also inform strategic planning and policy decisions, budgetary spending and overall continuous improvement.
