The Schomberg Horticultural Society invites you to attend the June meeting. Our guest speaker, Owen Goltz, will speak on the topic of "Plant Health: Biology beats Chemistry". Riverdale Farm and Forest farmer and master arborist Owen Goltz offers consulting services in vegetable gardening and pasture management, as well as in tree and shrub care and forest management. Biochar can improve water quality, reduce soil emissions of greenhouse gases, reduce nutrient leaching, reduce soil acidity, and reduce irrigation and fertilizer requirements. Under certain circumstances, biochar induces plant systemic responses to foliar fungal diseases and improves plant responses to diseases caused by soilborne pathogens. Doors open at 7:00 and presentation starts at 7:30. Flower show and refreshments.
