Learn more about the invisible creatures in the soil and how their activities, combined with compost use, lead to healthier soil and a calmer climate.

Attend a free workshop on Thursday, Sept.11 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Laskay Hall: ‘Healing our Soils and Climate and Compost: A Neighbourhood Champions Program,’ delivered by the Compost Council of Canada in partnership with the Live and Let Live Foundation with funding from York Region’s Circular Economy Initiatives Fund.

Subjects include different composting systems, worm composting methods, practical ways to build carbon levels in soils, and do-it-yourself methods for assessing soil health.

In the second phase of the program, workshop participants can become neighbourhood champions, giving them access to additional training on soil health and composting methods, empowering them to lead their own educational events.
