Indoor and outdoor activities happening this Family Day, Monday, Feb. 16
Township of King, Ont. (February 9, 2026) — Great memories happen when you're busy having fun! Make lasting ones on the Family Day holiday on Monday, Feb. 16 spending quality time together at your local recreation facility or Cold Creek Conservation Area.
Drop-in skating, swimming, sports and fitness classes
Go skating, swimming, or play shinny hockey, pickleball, badminton and tackle the open turf during a game of soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, frisbee or football between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Zancor Centre. Try aquafit or take a Yoga or Body Sculpt class. Bring the little one (ages 1 to 6) to Playgroup where they can climb, jump, ride and play on equipment and toys.
The Trisan Fitness Centre is open for a workout from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hatha Yoga and a Body Balance class are also offered in the morning.
Dedicated times for youth shinny and parent and tot skate are available at Nobleton Arena.
Pre-registration is required for drop-in recreational sports. Online registration opens 24 hours in advance of the drop-in program and is available 24/7at townshipofking.perfectmind.com.
Pre-registration is not required for public swimming, skating or shinny hockey. All drop-in activities are included with a valid monthly RecPass otherwise pay-as-you-go fees apply.

FREE cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and outdoor skating
Brave the elements and explore the wintry outdoors at Cold Creek Conservation Area, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing across 7km of snowy trails. Snowshoe rentals and ski and pole rentals are FREE (while supplies last) for Family Day and can be rented for as long as you like during chalet hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Warm up (or stay refreshed) between activities with a drink from our on-site beverage vendor, J. E. Drinkwalters Homestead Recipes. Lace up your skates for a glide along the new ‘backyard’ rink built by staff under the pavilion. The unsupervised rink accommodates a maximum of 25 skaters at one time and is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting. For more information, visit coldcreek.ca.
The King Township Municipal Centre and all libraries will be closed on Monday, Feb. 16. Essential services, such as fire and emergency response and by-law and enforcement services, will continue uninterrupted.
