Bulk Item Collection

Oversized and large metal items, as well as appliances, require a tag and scheduled collection

Oversized items—furniture, mattresses, box springs, plastic lawn furniture, toilets, carpeting, and more—require an orange ‘bulk item’ sticker.

Large metal items—appliances, barbecues, bed frames, furnaces, hot water heaters, metal bathtubs, storage sheds and bicycles—require a pink ‘white goods (appliances)' sticker.

How it works

Beginning January 2026, large item collection in King Township will follow a scheduled, call-in process, similar to the system already in place for appliances and large metal items. Due to the province-wide mandate the Township will no longer collect recycling effective December 31, 2025.

Oversized item and large metal item pick-up requires the following:

  • Residents must call GFL (Green for Life Environmental) at 1-866-421-5625 to schedule a pick-up.
  • A maximum of five (5) items will be collected per pick-up.
  • Each item requires the relevant tag.
  • Residents’ items will be picked up on their regular garbage collection day.
  • Items must be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on collection day.

Bulk item tags and appliance tags cost $15 each and may be purchased online or in-person at the Trisan Centre, Zancor Centre, and the King Township Municipal Centre.
